About this audiobook
The "Note from the Floor" of Fedor Dostoevsky is one of the strongest, darkest and revolutionary works in the history of world literature, which has become the cornerstone of the philosophy of existencialism. This is a miserable, scaryly open confession that has predestined the main ideas of Nietzsche, Sartre and Camus, forever changing the idea of the boundaries of human psychology. The story is divided into two radically different parts. The first part, the "Podpolje", is a poisonous monologue of an unnamed fourteen-year-old resigned official living in a dirty St. Petersburg room - "podpolje."Hero - a deeply unhappy, angry, but paradoxally intelligent intellectual. It is overwhelmed with angry criticism of society, science, logic and the concept of “rational egoism,” proofing that man is an irrational creature that, in order to preserve its freedom and caprice, is ready to destroy even its own comfort. Here the “underground man” faces real life: he organizes a ridiculous rebellion against former classmates at the called lunch and tries to morally destroy the pure soul – the prostitute Lisa, who sincerely regretted him. Dostoevsky made a real revolt, bringing the “anti-hero” to the scene – a man locked in the hole of his own selfishness, reflection and pride. “The underground” here is not just a cheap housing, but the state of the soul, a voluntary isolation from living life and love. The book is impressed by its irresistible honesty, forcing each reader to look into the shy cracks of his own “I”, in which he would never acknowledge hearingly. ** About what the book in three words:** Protest, Unity, Reflection. **Who to read:** To the lovers of hard psychological prose, to the lovers of serious philosophy and to everyone who wants to understand where all the great novels of the "Great Five Book" of Dostoevsky have grown.
