The "Palace No. 6" of Anton Chekhov is one of the most powerful, deep and terrible stories in Russian literature, which has become a rigorous philosophical diagnosis for the entire Russian society. Everything changes when the doctor enters the slumbled flegel for the poor – Chamber No. 6. There he met Ivan Gromov, a smart, thin, suffering from persecution mania patient. Ragin suddenly finds in the “mostly” the only thinking interlocutor in the city. But their long intellectual conversations cause suspicion among colleagues and survivors. The hunt of indifference, which the doctor has justified for years, is stumbled: he himself is declared mad and locked in the same room, face to face with a severe and non-philosophical reality. Chechov managed to create a genius metafora of life, where saturated conformism and unwillingness to fight evil, sooner or later, lead to a disaster.
