"Mountains of Mind" by Alexander Gryboedov is a brilliant comedy in poems, which has become the top of Russian drama and the unbeatable masterpiece of the domestic satire. In the center of the story is a young, dirty and brilliantly educated noble Alexander Chacki, who after three years of foreign trips returns to Moscow. He rushes to the house of the rich official Famušov, to his daughter Sophia, to whom he is passionately in love since childhood. However, instead of gentle feelings Chacki faces a cold wall of incomprehension. Sophia is fascinated by a hidden and pleasant silence, and the entire local secular society ("Famus Moscow") is stumbled in chino-readings, spellings, hypocrisy and fear in front of all the new ones. Trying to defend his ideals of honor, mind and freedom, Chatsky enters a angry word battle with this conservative world, which in response declares the rebellion crazy. Gryboedov managed to create an eternal conflict between a thoughtful, bright personality and a coveted, pleasant majority, where sincerity and sharp mind become for a man his main forgiveness.
